Astros outlast Braves in St. Louis to take 2-1 lead.
Game 2 recap:
The Astros held on for a 2-1 victory over the Braves on a Kyle Tucker sacrifice fly in the 9th inning. After an RBI single by Noah Nova in the 2nd inning scored Ozzie Albies, the Astros answered with a sacrifice fly by George Springer to tie the game 1-1. With Eric Hosmer and Carlos Correa on base, Springer scored on Tucker’s fly ball to left field to give the Astros the 2-1 victory.
On this night not many familiar faces
Now a big leaguer, Brett Lawrie broke a 12-hour, 50-minute pitching drought with a two-out single in the 4th inning to start a four-run uprising, and helped the Astros rally past the Braves in Game 2.
Offense was lacking all night for the Braves, who mustered up just one run, while only collecting three hits. Both veteran pitchers, Alex Wood and Dallas Keuchel, labored through their fifth outings of the season, with Keuchel absorbing the loss, but getting plenty of run support. Wood went seven innings allowing one run on six hits.
The Astros now lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
