By the time I’m finished writing this, the calendar will be blowing out and we’ll have ten more days in the summer sun. For once, weather in San Francisco and Southern California should actually cooperate with their neighbor, far north.
The storm that pushed through earlier today brought heavy rainfall to Southern California – pretty much where I’m from, if a bit further south. The forecast is for another front from Mexico to pass through the area today, bringing more rain through the midsection of the state. The bulk of the precipitation is expected to be over by tonight, allowing the warming trend to begin.
From about noon today through about mid-day tomorrow, the circulation will turn to the south, returning California to spring-like conditions.
By the end of the weekend, the rest of the US will be on the edge of some more cold air, and for many of us we’ll have a pleasant weekend of swimming and relaxing.
